Why abortion?

Some 50,000 women die from clandestine abortion each year, according to an Italian newspaper called La Repubblica. The deaths are highest in poor countries or where the act is illegal for unwanted pregnancies, and because of this, this is one of the leading causes of death among girls between 15 and 19 years old.

Whoever thinks that those who oppose the date of the struggle for the legalization of abortion will lower the rate of women who will do abortion are wrong. On the contrary, denying abortion will cause more women to take action and put their lives at risk because most of them will take the clandestine form, where they do not have sterilized materials and any security, thus causing their deaths, not only "one", but "two" deaths.

In Italy, where abortion is legalized, many females still find it difficult to carry out the procedure on behalf of gynaecologists, obstetricians, anesthesiologists and health officials who refuse to interrupt their pregnancies, even if allowed by law. These girls die doing a clandestine abortion because they are not allowed to have a safe abortion in a place where the act is allowed. Contradictory.

Those who talk about the "banalization of abortion" never stopped to think about it or to see the data from countries that legalized abortion, as is the case in Uruguay. You know what happened? Women who were illegally abusing life-threatening abortions legally and safely did not die. No woman died. To those who argue that "abortion will become contraceptive method", I do not even know what to say. Nobody wakes up one day and thinks, "Wow, what a beautiful day, I think I'm going to have sex and get pregnant to have an abortion!" That is not even a question. No one does it.

Considered illegal in Poland, except in cases of life-threatening rape and incest, abortion has been a hotly debated topic in the country, where a bill has tried to ban the termination of pregnancy also in special cases. Due to protests, the Polish government backed off and decided not to change the law for the time being. "In terms of the sexual and reproductive rights of women, Europe is an example that should not be followed," said Silvana Agatone de Laiga, an association in favour of abortion.

A woman who wants to do an abortion is not interested if her aunt finds that this is a crime, or if her cousin considers genocide legalization, or if you are against because you think it is a life and everyone has a right to live. A woman who wants to have an abortion will do this abortion. Or will try and die. She will try in a clinic or at home with medicine or threading a knitting needle in the womb. Then, she will be terrified to go to the doctor to cure a curettage, be denounced and be detained. This is what happens.

But... Will legalizing the abortion decrease the rate of mothers death? Yes, it will not stop the deaths at all, but it will decrease if a woman goes to a specialized clinic with sterilized objects and safe. What about putting the child into adoption? Well, one of the biggest fears of a mother is sending away her own child, even if she doesn't have the proper conditions to care the kid. And what about the psychotherapy? It is not 100% that a woman will cure herself of it. Oh, so, if she aborts, would not she be traumatized like her giving her child? Maybe yes, maybe not, but together with this trauma, she will feel relief.

I get sad when I see a girl's face focused on the "gang who performed abortions" and even more with the comments that people do. They seem like a cold heart people. They comment: "Oh, she deserved it", "kill, die", "it was good to open your legs," and all those other pearls you can imagine. In addition to ignorance and the realization that a woman's life is worthless, this also demonstrates a punitive attitude toward the woman who has sex. No one asks where the man who made her get pregnant is. No one wants to know if he protected himself if he cared. Before the eyes of this terrible common sense, man has no responsibility when it comes to contraception.

But I am not talking about contraception, but about when it fails.

Once, I saw in the New York Times a post that was incredible. It was chart about the odds of contraceptive methods fail. And in what we can see, it's not a small thing. So we may see for those who think that "do not need" to legalize abortion, just "take care", a small reflection.

Anything is 100% right. Anything.
